Training meets lived experience

How did I get here?

Every time we go through something that is challenging we have a choice; we can let it take us down a dark path, or we can do our work and stand up again; allowing the experience to inform and transform us. My entire life I was surrounded by divorce and unique relationship structures. I have witnessed first hand how destructive relationships can be when they are ending, and I have also seen another option. I myself have been through 2 divorces, both entirely different. I have gone through the hell-storm divorce and pained co-parenting path, unhealed, angry and scared. But I have also been through another path. I believe in love, I believe in the ability for relationships to change form without dissolving entirely, and I believe in the ability to find transformation through pain. Further more, I know that the outcomes of our children are not destined to be doom and gloom. I know that with intention and commitment, we can raise well-balanced children who love themselves and know their worth: because we love ourselves and know our worth. I am also a professional wedding commissioner and I truly believe that the end of a relationship deserves the same amount, if not more care, than the beginning. I have the first hand experience of separation, divorce, and co-parenting at all ages. Due to the lack of support and guidance I found; I am committed to helping others walk this path with grace and compassion.

Who am I Professionally?

My path to making these offerings has had many stops along the way. I graduated from the College of Education in 2012 with a special interest in the humanities. I loved working with children from high needs families and learning about how to best support them. I decided to leave teaching to focus on families directly. I took my Family Law Mediation training here in Saskatoon with a well known collaborative law firm. I knew however, that I wanted to focus not only with practical but also the personal side of separation and divorce. Sure, I can help you divide up your assets and make a custody plan… but where my interest truly lies is in empowering people! To use heartbreak as your opportunity. To wring every ounce of wisdom and growth possible out of your circumstances. We can become bitter, we can become resentful and hateful… or we can grow to the next level and rise above the patterns that have repeatedly recurred in relationships so we do not find ourselves here again. Because of my commitment to growth and knowledge sharing, I have become a certified Conscious Un-coupling Coach as trained by Katherine Woodward-Thomas herself. On top of this, I have completed my Relationship Coaching Course and my Life Balance Practitioners course. I am currently studying to complete my bachelor degree in Social Work and aim to become registered. I have also taken trainings of specific interest in the following:

Somatic Experience

Non-Violent Communication

Violence Detection & Prevention

Crisis Intervention

Domestic Abuse warning signs and interventions

Bachelor of Eduction with a special interest in minority populations
